Cleanup after an unattended death typically takes between 4 to 12 hours, depending on the severity of decomposition and the size of the affected area.
Every situation is different. If the person was not discovered for several days, biohazard contamination may spread into flooring, subfloors, or surrounding rooms. We start with a respectful site assessment and explain the scope before any work begins. Our team works discreetly, using certified processes to fully remediate biohazards, remove odor, and return the space to safety. Larger or heavily decomposed scenes may require multi-day service.
Yes. Forensiclean uses commercial-grade odor neutralization and decontamination protocols to eliminate biohazard-related odors at the source.
We don’t just mask smells—we remove the biological cause through deep cleaning, ozone or hydroxyl treatment, and material disposal if needed. That said, smell memory is powerful, especially after trauma. It’s not uncommon for survivors to continue sensing an odor that’s no longer present—this is known as olfactory hallucination and can be part of the brain’s trauma response. We’re here to help with both the physical cleanup and the emotional reality of recovery.
We inventory, clean, or dispose of items based on contamination.
You’ll have input wherever possible. We never discard belongings without cause or consent unless legally required.
