Founded by a brother-sister team. Fueled by compassion. Built on experience, trust, and relentless determination.
Forensiclean is a trauma scene and environmental cleanup company headquartered in Sacramento and serving all of California.
We specialize in biohazard remediation, unattended death cleanup, encampment clearance, and hazardous waste removal — but our story runs much deeper than the services we offer.
OUR ROOTS
Before Forensiclean was born, Dawn McGuire ran her own cleaning business for over a decade. Her brother, Aaron Burt, was a contractor, building and remodeling homes across Northern California. Then came a spark — the film Sunshine Cleaning. It planted a seed.
With no roadmap, no industry experience, and nothing but personal vehicles and a relentless work ethic, they launched Forensiclean in 2013. Armed with News & Review ads and the determination to say yes to every opportunity, they cleaned crime scenes, hoarded homes, encampments, human waste, sharps — anything that helped them learn and grow. They undercharged, over-delivered, and built their knowledge job by job. Every cleanup made them better.
WHO WE ARE NOW
Today, Forensiclean is recognized as a leader in forensic cleaning and trauma scene remediation. We employ over 60 people and operate a fleet of 35 service vehicles, 3 tractors, and full hauling capability across California. We’ve grown, but we’ve never outgrown our values.
Our team supports public safety and community dignity everyday — responding to everything from encampment cleanups in Sacramento to hazardous waste along Union Pacific rail lines, and even federal land remediation for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.
CERTIFICATIONS AND COMPLIANCE
Forensiclean is fully licensed, registered, and certified to handle the most complex and sensitive cleanup situations throughout California. We maintain strict compliance with state and federal regulations related to hazardous materials, trauma scene waste, and environmental responsibility.
Need to verify something? We’re happy to provide documentation on request.
Every technician is certified, trained, and background-checked. We follow OSHA, EPA, and DOT guidelines to the letter — and document every step. From field response to final documentation, we operate with rigor and respect for the law, the environment, and the people we serve.
Since day one, we’ve taken a trauma-informed approach to the work. That means no judgment, no pressure, and no exploitation — just quiet care and respectful service in some of life’s hardest moments.
We don’t use scare tactics or vague language. We walk you through exactly what needs to be done, what it will cost, and how we’ll handle it — clearly, honestly, and without pressure.
We work hand-in-hand with public health officials, law enforcement, social workers, and local government partners to ensure cleanups are safe, legal, and compassionate. Seamless coordination matters — and it’s part of our job.
We take full ownership of every cleanup we perform — from site safety to final disposal. If we say we’ll do something, we do it. Our word matters.
Ethics aren’t optional here. We do the right thing even when no one is watching — because lives, safety, and reputations are on the line.
Our crews are more than coworkers — they’re a unit. We train, support, and trust one another so that every job gets done right, and no one faces it alone.
